Our Mission Statement
Our Voice Matters is a grassroots and cross-party campaign dedicated to pressuring political parties to take more action on the vast amounts of sexual harassment that happens internally.
TOGETHER WE CAN TACKLE SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN POLITICS
OUR CAMPAIGN: WESTMINSTER IS BROKEN
This is our first campaign, the objective of which is to start a conversation about the culture of sexual misconduct and abuse in Westminster, the causes and how it impacts the culture of our politics today.
Our Goals
Raise awareness
Start a conversation, across the political spectrum, about the prevalence and impact of sexual harassment. Our website offers testimonies, surveys and statistics, outlining the safeguarding issues afflicting people in politics.
Reform
Advocate for better, more accessible and supportive reporting procedures. This includes working with political parties and their safeguarding teams to improve time frames, provide support and protection for victims, and improve policies for increased online communication.
Support victims
We aim to work with victims to give them advice, offer support and direct them to charities which may be able to help them through the process, including mental health charities.
Better safeguarding
Work with political parties to ensure better safeguarding is available, more training is available to their members and their guidance is updated. In addition, ensure more emphasis is placed on safeguarding younger members.
